Shop Talk: Mavenhaus Collective
We've always been proponents of fewer, better purchases. Our business model is designed to minimize the waste that is so prevalent in the fashion industry. Part of producing responsibly is not putting more 'stuff' into the world than is consciously wanted, so each pair of Coclico is made to order for our retailers. Our newest retailer has taken this same 'waste not, want not' philosophy and passed it on to the end of the line customer - you.

The brain child of taste maker Traci French of Bliss and seasoned PR professional Tara Schlosser, the two have made it their mission to offer exclusive bespoke items from their favorite brands and makers, only going in to production once each piece has been spoken for."There is something to be said for feeling wonderful about an item because it is not only beautiful, but comes to your closet in the most responsible manner." - Traci French

These beauties are only being offered for purchase until 2/16/2015, so don't snooze if they are pulling at your heart strings. Once the sale is closed we will begin careful production on these bespoke pairs.
"Mavenhaus Collective designs may take a bit longer, but we believe that gorgeous quality and exclusive design are worth the wait." - Traci French
We keep good company at Mavenhaus. While new to retail Traci has made beautiful things her business for many years and called in favorites like Clair Vivier, Dace, Dream Collective, String Theory, Ariana Bohling, Cardigan, Alexis Russel, and Erin Templeton to collaborate on exclusive pieces for the launch.

In fact, it is what inspired me to start my blog, Bliss. My partner (also my sister) and I started Mavenhaus Media, a social media marketing agency, where we focused on connecting brands with social media influencers that they naturally aligned with. Our favorite part of Mavenhaus Media was working with amazing designers. Mavenhaus Collective seemed like the next logical/exciting step; a chance to showcase our favorites…while also exposing them to a new audience using a unique retail platform that would be 100% beneficial to them- no left over inventory, no waste. However, we have been lucky enough to work with amazing designers who are so willing to share their experiences and knowledge with us. We are happy with how things are going and can’t wait to see what’s next. on BETTER FEWER THINGS I try to be thoughtful about what I bring into my home and life. Sure, I still make the impulse purchase here and there, but I've found that I can eliminate buyer's remorse by only bringing items into my closet and home that are truly unique and have a story, yet are timeless and will last! I love items that are made with great care and attention to detail…items that have a story. Then, the final step- I ask myself, "is this item authentically me?" If the answer is an absolute, "yes" then I can feel good about bringing that item home. [caption id="attachment_4674" align="aligncenter" width="1022"] Coclico x Mavenhaus Collective. I reach for the same items year after year so it only makes sense that I spend a bit more on these. on SLOW LIVING Moving to a mountain town has naturally helped me to slow down. My community knows how to work hard and play hard. Which mentality drives my decisions every day. I may start my day working, but will step away to take a hike or go for a run in the woods. Another factor is moving 4 times in 3 years…you would be amazed by how priorities change and how easy it is to throw out things that don’t really matter when you are forced to pack it up and move it from place to place. Everything inspires me- Pinterest, blogs, brands, friends, etc. on the PERFECT WEEKEND Typically, my weekends are all about family…I love to spend time outside, but also love dinner and wine with friends…or heading to a concert outdoors beginning in the spring. Like I said, the theme is outdoors…and the uniform is always jeans, sweater and boots…
